What is a Casting?
A Casting is essentialy an audition for Models and Actors for either a specific part or for agency representation. A Casting involves a Casting Director who will call you in and have you perform from a script or an improvisation.
Where can I find a Casting?
We have communicated with many parents about how to get their babies into casting business. You can find plenty of information by doing a Google search to help you with this topic, but we want to take a slightly different approach with this article. For our purposes, let’s talk about the fact that these are our children and the simple yet sometimes overlooked fact that babies are people too!
Often babies become actors after the baby casting because someone takes a look at your child and says, "Your baby is so pretty. You should get her in commercials." While this is sweet and very good for a parent’s ego, it may not be the best thing for the baby. Let’s say that you agree and begin to pursue the idea and take your baby to the baby casting. Be honest with yourself. How many people ask their children if they want to be in commercials? Even if you do, do you think the child really understands what is involved? Let’s talk about some of those things.
Does the baby or you know that there may situations where the baby has to work outside under hot lights in the middle of summer? The babies might have to work in studios with hot lights and it can become really hot. So don’t worry about your baby and take her to the baby casting and show her talent. The babies may have to spend lots of time studying and memorizing lines while the other babies are out playing. If the child becomes a big money maker, you might become over protective because the babies will be more than just your babies, but your source of income.
